Ms. Crystal Molinary Garcia is an Arts Educator & Visual Artist based in Miami, Florida.  Molinary Garcia has been in Arts Education since 2008 and joined MAC in 2021 where she teaches courses in Photography, Video and Digital Art. She has served as Director of the Visual Arts Department since 2024.  

Garcia’s work has been exhibited broadly including at MoMA PS1 and is included in notable collections, such as the NSU Art Museum and The Frost Art Museum. Her work has been written about in The Aesthetics of Excess and featured in publications, including Hyperallergic, The Miami Herald, Flavorpill and Teen Vogue.  She maintains her studio practice alongside her teaching career and was selected as an Ellies Art Teacher Travel Award Recipient by Oolite Arts in 2026.  Molinary Garcia has a forthcoming book collaboration - Gilded Revival -  with author Jennine Capo Crucet that will be released through Burrow Press in the Fall of 2026. 

While at MAC, Molinary Garcia’s students have achieved significant success, earning prestigious honors such as Scholastic Art & Writing Awards’ Regional and National Gold Medals as well as YoungArts Finalist with Distinction recognition. In addition, students have received scholarships and pre-college program acceptances from leading art institutions, including The Cooper Union, Kansas City Art Institute, and Pratt Institute School of Art.   Building on the strong foundation established by previous directors, Garcia has implemented an inclusive and diverse curriculum that encourages Visual Arts students to explore a wide range of media, fostering interdisciplinary practice and conceptual thinking. Through this curriculum, she has also cultivated partnerships with leading Miami art institutions, providing students with professional experiences such as internships with Oolite Arts and the Florida Grand Opera as well as exhibition opportunities at The Bass Museum of Art in Miami Beach.
